Rabboni (Poem)

“Oh woman, tell us why you weep,
and why this tearful vigil keep.”

“They came and took my Lord away!
I don’t know where they’ve put Him.”

“Dear woman, tell Me why you weep.
Who is the Man for whom you seek?”

“If you have carried Him away,
I want to come and get Him!”

“Mary, it is I.”

“Rabboni!”

God Tested Abraham (Poem)

“Go up, Abraham, without a lamb.
Take your son, your only one.

Build me an alter, (do not falter).
Kill your boy, your greatest joy.”

Reaching for the knife- to end a life.
No sound heard, but then… a word!

“Stop now, Abraham! Look up: a ram!
In the thorns, caught by the horns.

Slay it instead. Blood must be shed.
It is done. Blessing will come.”

Mars Hill (Poem)

The God who made the world and all within,
does not live in a temple made by men.
Nor is He served by man’s designs,
but He appointed each one’s time.

Now all should seek the Lord and hope to find
a faithful Friend who is both just and kind.
For in Him we all have our being.
Some poets say “we’re His offspring.”

These times of ignorance He does or’look,
Though worthless idols His right glory took.
But soon will come the Man who rose,
to judge His unrepentant foes.

Acts 17:24-31

Accused (Poem)

Questioned to great extent,
Scribes and priests: vehement;
by soldiers treated with contempt
who won’t relent
till Satan’s arrows: spent;
the Man, silent, came and went.

“And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused Him.” ‭‭

Luke‬ ‭23:10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Pilate, The Coward

Pilate proved himself a coward,
when he tried Emmanuel.
The verdict: “guilty.” So absurd,
his attempt the crowds to quell.

Up to Herod, Christ he sent.
(Jesus was from Galilee.)
No decision. Back he went.
Still, Pilate no fault could see.

High Priests cry “no friend of Caesar
is a ‘king’ on Roman lands.”
“Crucify him” loudly jeer.
Pilate calmly washed his hands.

Released Barabbas: the rebel.
Soldiers lead Jesus away.
Simon, a foreigner, they compel.
Jesus’ cross to convey.

Pilate proved himself a coward
When he judged Emmanuel.
Stand for Christ and be empowered.
Speak! And of his glory tell.

“When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it.”” ‭‭ Matthew‬ ‭27:24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
