Temple Restoration (Ezra 3:8-13)

The following is a message I shared at Grace Bible Fellowship on November 18, 2018.

Title: Temple Restoration

Theme: God is good and his faithful love endures forever

Passage: Ezra 3:8-13

In Ezra 3:8-13, the first group of returning exiles lay the foundation of the temple in Jerusalem. This requires preparation and dedication. It should be an event to celebrate, but it’s clear that something is wrong when the older men begin weeping.

Can we declare, “God is good and his faithful love endures forever” even when things don’t go according to plan?

PS. Here is the part of my conclusion I didn’t quite get to: “Remember my shed? I eventually finished it, through much toil, nagging from my parents, and help from friends. I put the roof on, including a skylight (made from a piece of corrugated plastic) and was quite pleased with my accomplishments. Then a windstorm came and blew the plastic piece off. Back to the drawing board…”
