Romans 14:9 clearly shows that Jesus submitted himself to the Father, even to the point of death, for a very important reason: so that he might be Lord of both the living and the dead!
As the living Messiah and descendant of David, he was entitled to be Lord of the living. But in his death and resurrection, he became Lord of the dead, too.
Because he died and rose again, we don’t have to fear death. He had conquered death and will raise us up when he returns.
Therefore, let us do away with petty disputes and live in peace with our brothers and sisters here on earth.
