Paul describes the church as the “Household of God” in 1 Timothy. As such, he encourages Timothy to help people understand how people ought to conduct themselves in this household. One aspect of a “successful” household is its leadership. In this passage, Paul helps Timothy understand the qualifications of Deacons in a local church.
