The “Gift” of Learning

I’d like to pass along a quote I came across recently. It’s by a man names Bruce Anstey. I found it in booklet he published called “How to know the Will of God for your Life (Part 1).”

If there is one thing to learn from his quote its this: the comprehension of God’s is not reserved only for “gifted” people. The truth found in the Bible is available to all who will study it diligently. (Anstey explains that the public preaching of this truth may fall to gifted men, but others will be able to use it in the way the Lord directs!)

So, without further delay…

“Another misconception some have about learning the truth is that it’s really only attainable to a select few that have a “gift” for it. You might be thinking that, and saying, “Some of these brothers here have a gift for it, but I don’t; therefore, there’s no sense in me trying to apply myself to that kind of thing.” Let me tell you, there’s no truth to that! There is no such thing as a gift for learning the Word of God. Gift is for giving out what God has given to you. It will come out of you in a little different way than the next person, because we all have different gifts. All that’s needed for learning the truth is diligence and obedience. And that something that is within the reach of everyone of us!”

“If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭2:4-5‬
